In Western healing, cupping is used during or in conjunction with a massage session. Before application of the cups the practitioner will administer plenty of oil to the area(s) being cupped, using this time to evaluate the skin & tissues. The oil is to facilitate a smooth motion of the cups over the tissue. Negative Pressure Cupping creates a pulling or suction of the tissue eliminating compression of tissues.
